The Galt House Hotel & Suites

As the official hotel of Churchill Downs and The Kentucky Derby, The Galt House is a name long associated with gracious hospitality, Southern style and history.

Along with many of Hollywood's elite who attend the Derby each year, some of the more "historic" visitors include Jefferson Davis, Stephen Douglas, Charles Dickens, P.T. Barnum, Tom Thumb, and presidents Lincoln, Grant, Taylor, Hayes and Buchanan. In 1864, generals Grant and Sherman planned their military strategys at the Galt House.

Located directly on the waterfront in downtown Louisville, the Galt House's twin towers have long been one of the city's landmarks.
