Chief Judge- John Carlson

    John has been involved in the collector car hobby for more than 40 years. His motorsport experiences are as varied as his passion for high performance vintage track racing and Concours quality restorations.
     He is the National President and Chief Judge for the National Association of Automobile Clubs of Canada and the Chief Judge for the Vintage Car Club of Canada. John is a Master Judge for the Classic Car Club of America; a Chief Class Judge for the Pebble Beach Concours and the Kirkland Concours. He is a Chief Judge for the Hilton Head Concours. His personal collection of vehicles includes classics, sports racing and muscle cars. He is a hands on restorer.

    The Louisville Concours d'Elegance boasts a judging panel that rivals some of the top Concours in the world. Each judge is chosen for his/her expertise of a particular marque and many are considered experts in their field. The 2011 judging panel is currently being assembled by Chief Judge John Carlson

Honorary Judge - Ed Gilbertson

     Ed Gilbertson is a lifelong motorsports enthusiast who has been actively involved in concours judging for over 30 years and is a noted authority on judging procedure and proper preservation.

     He is the Chief Judge for the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance and also the Palm Beach Cavallino Classic. He is also Chief Judge Emeritus for the Ferrari Club of America, and was Honorary Chief Judge for the 60 th Anniversary of Ferrari in Maranello, Italy. He has been involved in many international events including Chief Judge for the famed FF40 show in Brussels, and also judged at the Louis Vuitton shows in London and Paris.

     In addition he is the Founder and Chairman Emeritus of the International Advisory Council for Preservation of the Ferrari Automobile (IAC/PFA) which develops judging procedures and preservation guidelines. He was a member of the organizing committees for the international Ferrari GTO and Alfa Romeo 8C reunion tours. He is a Contributing Editor for Cavallino magazine and was a longtime columnist for Thunder Press motorcycle news. He also co-authored a book on the Ferrari Spyder California.

     He is a past Regional Director of the Ferrari Club of America and past President of the Ferrari Owners Club. He is also a member of the Shelby American Club, Austin-Healey Club of America, Early Ford V-8 Club, and Classic Car Club of America. Also he is an honorary member of the highly regarded Candy Store car club.
